Using crystals for healing is a form of alternative medicine practiced by some people. Typically, crystals are used for physical or emotional healing. Different colored crystals have different healing properties. They all promote balance, or chakra, to restore a person's well-being by responding to the body's natural electrical currents. Step 1: Gather the Necessary Crystals.
Crystals that have different colors are used for different things. For instance, amethysts promotes contentment and serenity and it provides pain relief. Rose quartz can improve relationships and enhance weight loss. Bloodstone can improve circulation, reduce fevers and improve overall health. Carnelian relieves depression and sexual problems. Jade prevents illness and hematite removes illness from the body. Choose a variety of crystals or prepare only the ones you will be using, but make sure you have enough.
Step 2: Create a Comfortable, Healthy Atmosphere.
Using pillows, create a comfortable atmosphere. Cleanse the room of any negative energy using whichever rituals you're comfortable with, such as holy water, sage sticks or feathers. Make sure your crystals are nearby.
Step 3: Lie Down and Begin to Meditate
Have the recipient lie down and concentrate or meditate on the body's natural healing abilities. Use pillows to make yourself or the recipient more comfortable and prop up arms, the head, legs or the neck as necessary.
Step 4: Lay on the Stones.
Lay the stones on the receivers (or your own) body, beginning with the feet and working your way up. If the stone moves, that's fine, the crystal will choose the place where it can do the most good. A stone that is not necessary will simply roll off.
Step 5: Use Hands or Wait for Balance
You can use healing hands or you can simply wait for the Chakra to take over and provide balance to the body. When the process is finished and their energy is gone, the stones will roll off on their own.
If you don't like this method of using stones, other options are available. You can place them under your pillow to help with insomnia or use them while you're taking a bath by setting them on the edge of the tub, which can provide an additional release of stress. You can also place them around your workspace or another area with negative energy to release it.
